ST. ANDREWS INDOOR KO COMPETITION RULES

 

MATCH FORMATS – All rounds excepting the Final

​

With the exception of singles, no trial ends shall be bowled in rounds prior to the Final.

Trial ends may be bowled in all Finals

 

SINGLES       4 bowls each player first to 21 shots

PAIRS            4 bowls each player 16 ends or 2hr whichever is reached first (Final 21 ends)

TRIPLES        3 bowls each player 16 ends or 2hr whichever is reached first (Final 18 ends)

FOURS           2 bowls each player 16 ends or 2hr whichever is reached first (Final 21 ends)

 

RULES OF PLAY SHALL BE AS FOR LEAGUE GAMES (SEE LEAGUE RULES)

An end where the jack has been cast before the 2hr limit must be played to a finish.

All dead ends must be replayed within the time limit, a dead end after the time limit will not be replayed.

Start time must be agreed by both players from the same timepiece and marked on the scorecard.

If a game is unable to continue due to unforeseen circumstances, the competitors must resume the match from the time elapsed and scores point as soon as possible to complete the game.

 

PLAYING ARRANGEMENTS

The player whose name appears first in a draw is designated the ‘Challenger’ on behalf of themselves and, where appropriate their team, similarly the player whose name appears second is designated the ‘Opponent’.

 

In all competitions (singles, pairs, triples, fours) the challenger shall offer his/her opponent the choice of two dates, one weekday evening and one weekend. Other times may be offered only if agreed by both players/teams. These dates must be offered not less than 10 days before the closing date of the round.

 

If an agreement cannot be reached on a date and time, then the tie will be arranged by the Competition Secretary.

All matches must be completed by the “play by” dates posted on the draw sheets

The failure of a player or players to appear after a maximum waiting period of 30 minutes from the time fixed for the start of the game, shall cause the player(s) to forfeit the game to their opponent. ( exceptional circumstances excepted)

DRESS CODE

Dress for early rounds of shall be Greys

 

DRESS FOR FINALS

Men:  All competitors will wear regulation dress, which consists of: -

White footwear and plain white trousers or club blues and any of the following shirts:

Plain white shirt with tailored collar • Indoor International shirt • Indoor Club or County Registered Shirt

• White shirt with coloured piping •

Ladies: as men’s dress. Culottes, cropped trousers or regulation skirts may also be worn.

 

UNAVAILABLE PLAYERS

Should a team have a player unavailable on the dates agreed a substitute may play as follows:

 

1. The substitute must not of played in or been drawn in the same competition.

2. In drawn team competitions, the indoor Committee will be responsible for finding a suitable substitute

3. In competitions where teams are “pick your own partners” the team may choose their own substitute

4. The substitute may play in any position in the team.
