Men’s Somerset County League: North Div One

Ashcombe A 61 (10pts), St Andrews A 55 (2pts).

An outstanding performance by one rink was not enough to save St Andrews A from defeat in the Somerset County League local derby away to Ashcombe A.

Jim Keay, captain Robin Potter, Brendan Duffy and Barrie Forse started brilliantly, 12-1 up after four ends and never relaxed their grip, winning by 21.

With four ends left, Saints still had a five-shot lead overall. But one rink dropped eight in two ends and the other continued to struggle, losing by 19 as Ashcombe won by six shots.
